Open Question: Are you required to read music in the alto clef and/or transposing instruments to major in composition?

Or is this learned while you are taking composition classes?
I know a little alto, FACEG (lines) EGBD (spaces) not too hard to remember, but sight reading in the alto clef… =O is a diffrent story.

I’m 18 and I’ve been playing Piano for about 2 years[give or take a few months or so] and guitar for a little over a year and I’ve gotten quite good at both, not like an expert but probably intermediate level in both and I can improvise forever lol.
